Subclade U152 of R1b has been called Alpine Celtic by Britain's DNA - believed to have originated around the Alpine region of Central Europe. Project members willing to commit financially to doing more extensive Y testing of SNPs should join the U152 Haplogroup project.

The Collins project sees three major subclades of U152 among its members - Z367, Z36, and FGC4166. They split apart long before surnames existed, so Collinses distributed among these branches acquired their surnames in different ways.

In the project there are lineages under Z367 and Z36. However, no members under these SNP streams have done sufficient testing and agreed to have their data analyzed in more detail here.

R-U152 clusters within the project's private Y results are numbered starting with Cluster 1800.
