The major branch of R1a that shows up among Collinses is the branch formerly referred to as R-M512, but now is referenced by R-M198. In the table below, a modal was generated from a project lineage in the substream R-YP386 > YP1433. One project member in this lineage has granted permission to further analysis his data. With only one mutation from the modal, this lineage shows considerable stability; the common shared ancestor probably lived well into the second millennium, probably the second half.
Project members in this lineage give various US locations, such as Virginia, North Carolina, Kentucky, Missouri, Arkansas, as geographic origins. Most project members in this lineage do not provide any origin details.

The project has not extended the map beyond YP386 because there does not appear to be much data showing the migration / movement of the subclades out of Scandinavia.

Our analytical table is limited by 67 markers as one member has not done further marker testing. At 67 markers, Genetic Distance is only 1. Project member #73335919 could improve the results substantially by at least extending his STR markers to 111. The pedigree data published here does not show an obvious common patriarch.
