Not much origin data is offered by project members in the lineage represented by the modal haplotype below. Two closely related members share a patriline that worked its way from Virginia, through the Carolinas, Georgia, and elsewhere. One other member offers an origin of Scotland without further detail.
I-M253 is very old. The formation date is roughly 27000 BCE.
There are a handful of I-M253 Collins men in the project with NO COLLINS MATCHES.
In addition, data we have for any genuine lineages is weak. Project members in Clusters 0901 and 0902 could improve this page substantially by EXPERT LEVEL PARTICIPATION (see #5).
