G is a rather interesting haplogroup. It probably emerged from the eastern Mediterranean. G is the haplogroup of Otzi the Iceman. It managed to spread over continental Europe and the southwest British Isles. This haplogroup even reached the English throne, the carrier having been found buried underneath a parking lot !
