James Collins and Honora Collins lived in Lissane Lower, outside Drimoleague.
James may have been the son of Michael Collins (1790-1870) and Mary Donovan of Lissane Lower. His birth date is based on that assumption. Baptism records to help support or refute this assumption don't seem to have survived.
Besides James, Michael and Mary may have had Denis (no baptism record) as well as sons John (1825); Humphrey (1831); Jerry (1835); Michael (1837) and daughters Margaret (1823); Catherine Collins Collins (1833-1918); possibly Jane (1840). There may have been another daughter, Nora (or Ann) Collins Hourihane (1824?-1909) (no baptism record).
